Korean Restaurant in Azaiba
One of the perks of working with Koreans and actually being close to some of them is to be able to taste and enjoy their food. I'm lucky as I've eaten here twice, thanks to my good friend. Anyway, for those of you who are looking for something Korean to eat as I know there is no popular restaurant here in Muscat that serves authentic dishes or simply curious to try their food, you can taste it here. ;)
It's not really open to the public, but I did ask permission first from my friend to check with the owner if I can post and share the information. Apparently, I can't post the location in public, but if you wish to try to eat here, you can send me a pm or give me your email and I'll try to give you the person to contact and directions/address to this place located in Azaiba or they can also pick you up or lead you towards the place from Shell station in Azaiba (the one between Al Fair supermarket & MB Petroleum, not the one along the highway). They don't really have a menu, but they will serve you their usual meal (which is quite a lot as they have so many side dishes).
They are open daily, from 12 - 2PM for lunch, then 6PM onwards. Price per person is 5 RO nett without the drinks.. Not bad right? ;)
They serve lots of side dishes like - Miso or Kimchi soup, Kimchi, Steamed rice, Omelette/Pancake, etc. They can also serve other Korean dishes as per your request - Chap Chae, Bulgogi, etc plus Chinese & Japanese food. Do ask in advance if you want a certain dish before coming or when booking so they can prepare for it. ;)
Here's our table full of yummy Korean food for 4 persons for an idea.
Sweet & Spicy Chicken
Grilled Pork Belly & kimchi
Spicy Seafood Noodles & Pancake
Sushi Platter
Korean Movie Nights on 10th - 11th Nov 2013
And its back! The Korean movies nights, sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea has set the dates for 10th & 11th November 2013, at 7:30PM with a new venue this time at the Muscat Grand Mall (as it was held in Shatti Cinema for the past movies shown).
2 popular movies will be shown on these different dates, A werewolf boy, and As One. Best of all, Admission is FREE, if you get lucky, they might even give free popcorn and drinks (just like last time when I watched in Shatti Cinema). English subtitles are shown so that everyone can understand even if they speak in their native language.
I always make sure to watch these movies as its free, plus my faithful Korean friend never fails to inform me if there are any upcoming Korean events worth going to. Back in my country (Philippines), most of them are big fans of Koreanovelas (Korean TV shows) and Korean actors/actresses and I would say that Koreans have really invaded our country, they're everywhere. Hahaha! :)
Anyway, I also love Korean food/dishes so I'm also a fan and dream/wish to visit South Korea someday, I hope. ;)
Now I realized that its our chance to finally watch in MGM as we've never done so after having a baby. ;) So I hope you guys watch on these dates, and enjoy!

Eid Al Adha from 14th - 17th October 2013
Yes, finally after days of anticipation, the Sultanate has finally announced on the last day before the weekend of the Eid Al Adha holidays which is from 14th to 17th of October 2013, ALMOST the 9 days long holidays with the 2 weekends in between that everyone was hoping. Anyway for those who want to make the most of this, they can simply file for their 1-day annual leave. ;)
Since we will be in the city only, will go to work for that Sunday, haha. For the rest, enjoy the holiday plans/escapades/shopping.. ;)
Thank you to Oman and to HM Sultan Qaboos for being fair and generous to all residents of Oman. May God continue to bless you and this whole country.
