Aerobics at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex
For those of you ladies in Muscat looking for a cheap but really fun exercise / work out, then you're in the right blog. I have been to this class from 2011, but then I had to stop as I got pregnant that time. Returned there this 2013 only, after getting a nanny to watch my baby and so relieved that I can do some exercise now.
Anyway, on to the details: The aerobics class runs for exactly an hour, timings change but as of now, it is set to 6:30 - 7:30 PM, 2 sessions per week (Mondays & Wednesdays only) at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex (the building on the right side as you turn right immediately after going down the road). Registration per month is 2 RO but they usually make us pay 6 RO before the start of the quarter but if you joined late and with remaining 1 or 2 months left then you can pay 2 or 4 RO. Anyone can join and register anytime, open to ALL LADIES ONLY, all nationalities. :) They have 1 Filipina who is the main instructor, plus other local instructors at the front.
So what are you waiting for, try and join now to get fit. ;)

The ship is operated by the German Christian charitable organization GBA Ships (Good Books for All) and is home to the worlds biggest floating book fair.
The affordably-priced books cover a range of subjects including literature, science, sports, hobbies and children's books with over 5,000 titles in English, Arabic, Malayalam and Tagalog.
In addition to selling books, they have partnered with some organizations to do some charity work while the all-volunteer crew and staff of 400 people represented by over 45 different countries are docked in Oman.
What I love best about this is the fact that it's a Christian ship, enough said. ;)

Sifawy Boutique Hotel Promo: Weekend getaway!
It has been a long time since I was dying to try this new hotel for an overnight stay. At last, the plan finally materialized, thanks to their summer promotion! We paid for a B&B for 1 night stay for 50RO nett including all taxes and other charges last August 30-31, 2013. This is actually a late post as I totally forgot that I also want to blog about new found places or activities in this blog ;)
Our Room..
Kid's Corner.. (Actually is 1 room which they turned into a kid's play area. Only thing I didn't like is the outdoor big toys like the playhouse and slide were out in the balcony and it was hot since it was summer. They should have at least put them inside where there's aircondition)
The hotel view from outside..
Al Sabla Restaurant..
View from the Lobby's balcony..
View from our room..
The place is really nice, and if you really want more of a tranquil/peaceful place to go to, then this is my bet. I was looking for more activities for my 1 year old daughter and they only had the pool and the Kid's room.
The food was great, as we had an Entertainer voucher which is for a Main course in Al Sabla restaurant and you can get the other lower-priced main course for free but they didn't offer us any Ala Carte menu and so we went for their main course buffet for 14RO + taxes, not bad anyway. Breakfast of course came as complimentary.
I would recommend this hotel and definitely worth going back to with a price like that, you surely wouldn't regret it. We just didn't have enough time to walk around the nearby marina and it was quite hot so we had to skip it.
